Background:

I became a therapist because people turned to me when they wanted someone who would listen to them and help them discover their own answers to their problems.  When I decided to go into psychotherapy many of my friends laughed and asked if they would have to start paying me now.

My parents are both teachers.  I’ve been a substitute teacher for 8 years while pursuing an acting and writing career.  I also have my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential.  It is in my blood to be involved in one of the helping professions.  My father is a philosophy professor.  My family has always discussed philosophical and psychological issues with great enthusiasm.  For that reason, learning psychology has been a lifelong passion.  The cultivation of my creative side through my acting and writing careers helps me come up with creative solutions for my clients.

Fees:

My fee is $130 for a 45 minute hour.  Most therapists in Los Angeles charge $150 to $200 for a single session.  For couples psychotherapy, I do double sessions.  These are $170 for an hour and a half.  Most Los Angeles psychotherapists charge $200 to $275 for a couples psychotherapy session.  I also offer a sliding scale for those who qualify.
